Happily Running ("we," "us," or "our") operates happilyrunning.com and provides race timing, event production, and related communication services. This policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information.
We collect information you provide directly, such as your name, email address, phone number, date of birth, and emergency contact details when you register for an event. We also collect race timing data including bib numbers, finish times, pace, and placement results.
When you communicate with us via WhatsApp or other messaging platforms, we collect your phone number and message content for the purpose of delivering race-day notifications such as live awards updates and finisher alerts.
We use your information to manage event registration and timing operations, publish race results, deliver real-time race notifications via WhatsApp or other channels, communicate event logistics, and improve our services. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
We work with trusted partners to deliver our services, including Race Roster (registration and results), ChronoTrack (timing), and Meta/WhatsApp (messaging notifications). These services have their own privacy policies. We share only the minimum information necessary for each service to function.
Race results—including your name, age, gender, city, bib number, and finish time—are published publicly as part of standard race timing operations. If you wish to have your results removed or anonymized, contact us at the email below.
If you receive WhatsApp messages from us, it is because you or a race director opted in to receive live race-day updates. You can stop receiving messages at any time by replying "STOP" or contacting us. We do not use WhatsApp for marketing purposes.
We retain event and timing data for as long as needed to fulfill our obligations to event organizers and participants. Race results are retained indefinitely as part of the public record. You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
We take reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections, secure credential storage, and limited access to personal data. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.
We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 without parental consent. Minor participants are registered by a parent or guardian.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
