The Delaware Water Gap…the scenic Delaware River framed by thousand foot hillsides, steeped in Native and Early American History, inspiring throughout. In the mid 1900's active communities through the Gap were claimed on behalf of a planned hydroelectric dam project. Public, environmental activist, and political resistance to the project, paired w/ a finding of proximity to a geologic fault line halted the project and the land was transferred to public hands as a National Recreation area.
The course will me marking with pink flagging and some arrows, staying on the McDade trail. There are few turns and this mainly flat and fast out and back is a great course to lay down a PR, or dabble in your first ultra.
There are 3 fully stocked Aid Stations throughout the course. Each will have options increasing as you get towards the end. We exclusively us Hyle Hydration Fuel on course and will have other things like PB&J, snacks, candy, etc. to get you through the race.
50k runners will be able to leave a drop bag for Bushkill Access AS, miles 8.5 and 22.9. Please make sure they are labeled with your name bib number and location you want to have them dropped.
Milage listed is for 50k. 25k is similar though AS1 would be roughly 11.8 miles on the return.
All crew and pacer actions are the runner's responsibility. Runners must make sure their crew knows the rules and if they are broken it can mean a DQ and or course removal of runner and crew.
